Reliable and durable design, independently tested ensuring zero failure rate for diffuser assembly
Extensive testing has proven that our Non-Integrated Diffuser will not move position, preventing the risk of damage to downstream equipment due to valve failure assembly
ENSURING RELIABILITY
A series of independent laboratory tests by Queens University proved NO FAILURE with a maximum available 4.5kN load which is several thousand times the actual pressure the valve would expect to see in service. The diffuser could afterward still be unscrewed by hand, further proving the suitability of the design.
TORQUE TESTSA torque test was carried out to determine the force which the retaining ring can sustain and the safety factor compared to the maximum theoretical force.
It was found that the maximum available torque of 9000Nm could be applied without any failure in the mechanism giving a theoretical safety factor of 20,000.
For Hub or Weld Ended Valves, additional features and tests were required as the back collar of the diffuser is smaller than the connecting bore
API 6AAPI Spec 6A is an International Standard that specifies requirements and gives recommendations for the performance, dimensional and functional interchangeability, design, materials, testing, inspection, welding, marking, handling, storing, shipment, purchasing, repair, and remanufacture of wellhead and Christmas tree equipment for use in the petroleum and natural gas industries.
Additional Testing Requirements:
“PSL 3/3G” level PRODUCTION quality standard common for critical applications – tighter tolerances and more stringent testing of materials/valves
Our Noz-chek valve design has also passed the rigorous API 6A PR2 Appendix FType validation testing, often required for these upstream applications.
Our Valves can be offered tested in compliance with API 6A, the main standard used for high-pressure upstream environments such as wellhead and "Christmas tree" equipment
API SPEC 6FASpecification for Fire Test for ValvesIt is the purpose of this document to establish the requirements for testing and evaluating the pressure-containing performance of API 6A and 6D valves when exposed to fire.
Fire-safe testing and design is a key requirement for end-users due to the increasing focus on safety in critical upstream environments
NOZ-CHEK® designs, including
the new Non-Integrated Diffuser design, have been independently
fire-safe tested.
